About the Event

The Mental Health Awareness Program collaborated with Rahat charitable Trust aims to promote understanding, empathy, and open conversations around mental well-being using peer to peer support. The session focuses on breaking social stigma, recognizing early signs of mental health issues, Drug & alcohol prevention and encouraging healthy coping strategies among students.

Highlights

Expert-led sessions on mental health awareness, interactive workshops on stress management techniques, peer-to-peer support group formations, and distribution of mental health resource materials to all participants.

Impact

Over 200 students participated and gained valuable insights into mental health. The program successfully reduced stigma around seeking help, with 85% of participants reporting increased awareness and willingness to support peers facing mental health challenges.

Serenity in Silence: Pomnuyn sunim

About the Event

The Social Reform Cell organized a deeply reflective and spiritual session titled 'Finding Serenity in Silence,' featuring Venerable Beopryun Sunim, a highly respected Korean Buddhist monk, author, and advocate of peace and mindful living. The event focused on how to cultivate mindfulness and emotional balance in everyday life.

Highlights

The talk explored key ideas related to positivity, silence, self-awareness, and humanity. Around 60 students participated in the session, engaging in open-hearted dialogue and listening with intent. A live Q&A session allowed students to ask personal questions, to which Sunim responded with warmth and clarity. Professional translators (Korean–English–Hindi) were present, making the session smooth and inclusive for all attendees. The event was captured in photographs, reflecting the peaceful energy and thoughtful interactions throughout the session.

Impact

Students described the event as deeply meaningful and calming. Many said it helped them understand the value of silence and taking time to reflect. The peaceful atmosphere and thoughtful words left a strong impact, making it one of the most memorable sessions of the year.

Udaan

About the Event

The Social Reform Cell at NIT Delhi proudly participated in “Udaan”, a nationwide initiative aimed at spreading awareness about cleanliness, hygiene, and healthy habits among young children. This event was fully funded and supported by IIT Guwahati, with educational partnerships from Tech for India, and social support from Pledge A Smile Foundation. It was co-presented by Aadya Zaroori Hai, a movement focused on health education. To make hygiene practical and accessible, cleanliness kits were distributed to all children. Each kit included: Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Handwash, Soap, Dettol liquid.

Highlights

Distribution of 500+ sanitary kits to underprivileged school children, interactive hygiene awareness sessions conducted by volunteers, demonstrations on proper handwashing and dental care techniques, and educational materials provided to teachers for continued awareness.

Impact

Talking to the little kids was a heartwarming experience for the volunteers. Some children surprised us with their existing knowledge about cleanliness and hygiene, which made the session even more interactive. After the educational segment, a photo session was held to capture the cheerful moments.

Vaad Vivad Debate Competetion

About the Event

Themes: Health & Sanitation Challenges, Digital Literacy & Cyber Security 1V1
Vaad Vivaad is a competitive debate platform designed to encourage critical thinking, public speaking, and informed discussions among students. Conducted in a one-on-one format, the competition focuses on contemporary issues such as health and sanitation challenges, as well as digital literacy and cyber security.Each participant had 3 minutes to present their arguments, followed by a Q&A session from their opponent, the judges, and the audience.

Highlights

The event saw the enthusiastic participation of 20 students from various departments. Judges included faculty members and the senior librarian from our institute, who evaluated participants on clarity, logic, confidence, and persuasive skills. The top three speakers were awarded cash prizes and certificates for their outstanding performances.

Impact

Overall, “Vaad-Vivad” proved to be an intellectually stimulating and well-received event. It encouraged healthy dialogue, boosted confidence among students, and promoted awareness about some of the most pressing issues in our society today.
